MPs Meet CM: 6 Patidar MPs Rushed to Meet CM Directly from Delhi, More Than 140 Cases Against Patidars Could be Withdrawn at Any Time

MPs Meet CM: A political exercise has already started to count the votes of Patidars before the Assembly elections 2022. All BJP Patidar MPs have reached Gandhinagar on the issue of the Patidar reservation movement. Simultaneously, BJP’s Patidar MPs have arrived to meet the CM Bhupendra Patel. All these MPs have reached Gandhinagar directly from Delhi during the winter session.

These include Ramesh Dhaduk, Mohan Kundaria, Shardaben Patel, HS Patel, Mitesh Patel, and Naran Kachhadiya. A total of more than 140 cases against the Patidars may be withdrawn. Notably, 485 police complaints were lodged during the agitation.

4 days ago, non-political people including Dinesh Bambhania of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) held a meeting with the Chief Minister. Who were the leaders of the Patidar reserve movement. The meeting discussed the withdrawal of the long-pending case of the Patidar movement.

Violence Broke out all Over Gujarat

The meeting was attended by Naresh Patel, a leader of Leua Patidar Samaj and Chairman of Khodaldham Trust, and representatives of Umiya Mata Sansthan, Unjha, the largest organization of Kadwa Patidar Samaj. Also present were PAAS leader Alpesh Kathiria, Dinesh Bambhania and others.

In the year 2015, under the leadership of Hardik Patel and some other youths, the Patidar community gathered at the GMDC ground in Ahmedabad. Demanded the reservation of their Patidar’s. At this time, after the meeting of Hardik Patel, violence broke out all over Gujarat. In which 14 Patidar youths were killed. The demand to give reservations to Patidars under OBC put pressure on the then Anandibahen Patel government of Gujarat.

228 Police Complaints have been Dismissed

Hardik Patel, a one-time member of the Sardar Patel Group, formed the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAS) with the support of the Patidars. Which was also supported by the SPG Group. At that time the main objective of the committee was to give OBC status to the Patidar community. That is, 27 percent reservation to the Patidars was their main demand.

If we talk about the reservation movement and its related faces. Leaders who worked together in the movement today are in important positions by joining different political parties. These faces include Hardik Patel, Gopal Italia, Reshma Patel, Nikhil Savani, Atul Patel, Dilip Sabwa, Dharmik Malviya. Hardik Patel is currently the acting state president of the Congress while Gopal Italia is the state president of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Police cases were registered against Patidars during the reservation movement in Gujarat. A total of 485 police complaints were registered. 228 police complaints have been dismissed. More than 140 cases are still pending. Besides, the government has not yet fulfilled its promise to give government jobs to the patidars killed in the police firing.
