Gujarat ATS team arrests 6 Pakistanis with 77 kg of heroin worth Rs. 400 Crore : Gujarat’s coastline has become a transit point for drug trafficking. The Saurashtra-Kutch coast is a transit point for drug traffickers.
Evidence of this can be seen in the fact that in the last five years, agencies including Gujarat ATS and Coast Guard have seized drugs worth Rs 30,000 crore with eight large consignments.
Despite such intensive checking and tight security, drug trafficking is rampant. At that time, a team of Indian Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS seized 77 kg of heroin from a Pakistani boat off the coast of Jakhau in Kutch and arrested 6 Pakistanis.
A joint operation was conducted by Gujarat ATS and Indian Coast Guard on the Jakhau coast of Kutch on a tip-off, in which a Pakistani boat named ‘Al Hussaini’ was intercepted.
A search operation of the boat turned up 77 kg of drugs worth Rs 400 crore. Not only that, 6 Pakistanis were also arrested during the Jakhau coastal operation. All the people are being taken into custody and are being questioned.
Jakhau Coast Guard Commanding Officer Sandeep Safaya while talking to media about the joint operation with ATS said that the Indian Coast Guard in a joint operation with ATS Gujarat on December 20 intercepted a Pakistani boat named Al Hussaini in Indian waters with 06 Pakistani and 77 kg of heroin valued at Rs 400 crore.
The Coast Guard ship was facing cold winds and cold weather conditions. Pakistani boat intercepted 06 NM inside Indian waters. He was apprehended by the Coast Guard when he tried to flee after being spotted by a Coast Guard and was being challenged by the Coast Guard.
The joint operation consisted of about 05 bags of prohibited goods containing 77 kg of heroin. The market value of the narcotics seized by the Coast Guard is estimated at Rs. 400 crore is estimated. The seized Pakistani boat is reported to be in Karachi.
He added that the first input to Gujarat ATS was that these drugs were being smuggled into Indian maritime seas. The six accused arrested are being further interrogated and more details will be revealed to the media soon.
At present, 77 packets of heroin have been seized and the process of valuing them is underway. The Coast Guard has 24×7 patrols and such operations are made successful by conducting joint operations with the ATS when input is provided by any intelligence agencies.
The Coast Guard’s watch is always on the border, not just on Pakistani boats. At present, all the accused are being interrogated and legal action will be taken against them.
Gujarat ATS and Indian Coast Guard are interrogating Pakistani persons and further action is being taken, to whom these drugs were sent? And where to send in the state? Who are the strings of this drug scandal connected with?
They are being interrogated covering all aspects. Drugs have been found in the area several times in the past. Many times intoxicants come to the coastal boundary of Kutch by straining in the sea water from the opposite side. More than 30 kg of drugs were found off the coast of Gujarat in January 2021, 30 kg in April 2021, more than 3,000 kg in September 2021 and more than 186 kg in November 2021.
The coast of Saurashtra is playing an important role. Saurashtra’s coastline can be considered as the epicenter of drug, heroin, marijuana, hashish and arms smuggling, as Saurashtra’s coastline plays a vital role when it comes to terrorist attacks and marijuana smuggling in the country.
The drugs were recently seized by Gujarat ATS from the coast of Dwarka at a cost of about Rs 150 million. All these things are making the coast of Saurashtra dangerous.
These things can be considered as a headache for the Gujarat government. The coast of Saurashtra is known as the Gateway of Gujarat for smugglers to smuggle arms and drugs into India and Gujarat. Gujarat ATS team arrests 6 Pakistanis with 77 kg of heroin worth Rs. 400 Crore
