In Gujarat, 9 new cases of Omicron variant came up on Wednesday

Amid rising cases of Corona and Omicron variants in Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had to convene an urgent high level meeting today. In which the strict implementation of Corona’s guideline was discussed only in terms of testing and tracing instead of strict implementation like other states. Corona cases are increasing rapidly in Gujarat, on the other hand Omicron cases are also increasing rapidly. There were 9 cases of Omicron in the state yesterday, while 23 cases have been reported so far.
On one hand, Gujarat government is organizing Vibrant Summit-2022. The Vibrant Summit is going to be held from January 10 to 12 in Gandhinagar. Of course, the Vibrant Summit is taking place at a time when cases of Omicron and Corona are on the rise in Gujarat. The fear at the Vibrant Summit is that the majority of the guests will be from abroad and the possibility of an increase in the transition cannot be ruled out.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that about 70 thousand tests are done daily by the state government. He reviewed the arrangements for testing and contact tracing of tourists coming from abroad in collaboration with the Department of Health and Home Affairs as per the guidelines of the Government of India. It was stated at the meeting that 85 per cent of the work in two doses and 95 per cent in one dose has been completed in the state.
A total of 287 cases of Omicron have been reported so far in 17 states across the country. Maharashtra has the highest number of 65, Delhi 57, Tamil Nadu 34, Kerala and Telangana 24-24, Gujarat 23, Rajasthan 22, Karnataka 19, Haryana 4, Jammu and Kashmir and West Bengal 3-3, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh 2-2. , Chandigarh, Ladakh and Uttarakhand 1-1 cases have been reported.
On Wednesday, 9 Omicron cases were reported in a single day. Ahmedabad city had the highest number of five cases while Mehsana and Anand had 2-2 cases. According to the district, 7 cases of Omicron have been registered so far in Ahmedabad, 3 in Vadodara, 3 in Jamnagar, 2 in Surat, 1 in Gandhinagar, 3 in Mehsana, 3 in Anand and 1 case of Omicron variant has been registered in Rajkot so far. Thus, a total of 23 Omicron cases have been registered in Gujarat so far.
On the one hand, the transition to Corona is on the rise, on the other hand, the state government yesterday announced the celebration of Good Governance Week from December 26 to 31. In which Mahaarati has also been organized on the banks of Sabarmati, Narmada and Tapi rivers. On the one hand the transition to Corona in the state is increasing, on the other hand the government is busy preparing to celebrate.
The meeting was attended by Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, Minister of State Nimisha Suthar and Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Kailasanathan as well as Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Rajkumar and Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Manoj Agrawal and senior officials of the Health and Home Department.
