Leadec, the leading global service specialist for factories, has officially opened its new office in Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu. After a ribbon-cutting and coconut-breaking ceremony, a panel of customers and industry representatives discussed the future of outsourcing and fuels.
“We have been serving our customers from Chennai since 2010 and now have more than 1400 employees in South India and 3200 in India altogether. Chennai is an important center for the automotive, commercial vehicle and process industries and is our base for providing services in the neighboring states of Karnataka, Andra Pradesh, Kerala and Telangana,” says Sudhir Gurtoo, Managing Director of Leadec India.
The beginnings were modest. Six employees took on the first order from a customer in the automotive industry. Since then, Leadec has grown steadily and today serves 21 industrial companies in the region. The 100% renewal rate proves that Leadec is a valued reliable partner for the industry. The service specialist operates at 50 locations across India and has grown, year after year, at a CAGR of more than 25%.
The future of the industry
“CVs based on future fuels” and “The future of outsourcing strategy” were the two topics of the panel discussion at the Leadec Customer Meeting on October 19, 2023. Sudhir Gurtoo and Dr. Christoph Jaschinski of Leadec talked about current trends with Krishnan Sadagopan, SVP Ashok Leyland, C. Sundar, Head of Plant Operations Caterpillar, and Sai Sridhar, Senior Counsellor at CII.
“Leadec India is well prepared to participate in the growing manufacturing industry and support the ambition to become a leading region for world-class manufacturing. With the new office in Chennai, Leadec has strengthened its attractiveness for our customers and our highly qualified technical employees to develop and implement innovative technical services for the manufacturing industries,” says Dr. Christoph Jaschinski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Leadec India.
