TrinaTracker, a business unit of Trina Solar , is proud to announce its contribution to the520 MW Santa Luzia complex, one of the largest power plants solar energy from Brazil. The plant, currently being commissioned, is fully equipped with Vanguard 1P trackers incorporating the SuperTrack intelligent tracking algorithm.
TrinaTracker began supplying the project, covering more than 1,700 hectares and consisting of nine elements, last year. Once connected to the grid, it will power around 123,000 local households, reducing CO 2 emissions by 380,000 tonnes. The project created almost 1,000 local jobs during the construction phase and, once completed, will have economic, environmental and social benefits, promoting sustainable development in the region.
The Santa Luzia complex , located in very difficult terrain with semi-arid and irregular topography, uses the Vanguard 1P tracker for its exceptional energy efficiency, reliability and cost effectiveness. Featuring patented technologies in the structure and drive systems, the tracker ensures safe operation in adverse weather conditions. Today, TrinaTracker has secured orders of over 1 GW for the Vanguard 1P from Brazilian customers.
Additionally, SuperTrack integrates the Smart Backtracking algorithm with patented Mini-Shading Model technology, enabling real-time parameter optimization based on 3D topographic data. This increases energy efficiency by at least 3% compared to traditional systems, maximizing energy production potential. The plant benefits significantly from this intelligent tracking system which ensures efficient power generation in difficult terrains and improves the overall efficiency of the station.
Marcus Fabrino, Director of TrinaTracker in Latin America, said: “We express our sincere gratitude to Rio Alto Group for placing their trust in Trina and working with us on one of the largest photovoltaic projects in Brazil. This project is in line with the country’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable development.
Alvaro Garcia-Maltras, president of Trina Solar in Latin America, said the Santa Luzia plant was a great example of progress in renewable energy. It addresses the climate crisis, promotes economic growth and creates local employment opportunities, he added. “This project highlights the importance of trust and partnership between Trina Solar and the Rio Alto Group , and shows how photovoltaic solutions lead us towards a greener and more sustainable future.
Trina Solar is committed to delivering value to our customers, enhancing our product offerings and advancing technology to deliver high-value solutions globally.
